中国香港 - 澳洲联合发行龙舟竞赛邮票
2001年6月25日发行

    香港邮政继一九九九年七月一日与新加坡邮政一起发行以旅游业为主题的邮票后，今年的六月二十五日将与澳洲邮政联合发行这套龙舟竞赛邮票来庆祝端阳佳节。

    每年农历五月初五，各地华人为庆祝端午佳节都会举行龙舟竞渡。全港多处地点亦会举行龙舟竞赛。内地与海外的健儿纷纷来港参赛，争夺锦标，藉参与这项盛事促进文化交流。

    小全张上两枚邮票分别描绘了香港和澳洲海旁迷人的景色，以香港会议展览中心及悉尼歌剧院两座宏伟建筑为背景，主体则是挥桨奋进的龙舟健儿。画面绘画赛龙夺锦的盛况，洋溢一片喧腾喜庆的气氛。

    「中国香港-澳洲联合发行龙舟竞赛邮票」，邮品包括邮票、版票、小全张、套摺、纪念套摺及已盖销纪念封 (只限于发行首日在38 间集邮局发售)。

"Hong Kong, China - Australia Joint Issue on Dragon Boat Race"

    Issue Date: 25 June 2001
    After Hongkong Post released the first joint issue on 1 July 1999 with Singapore Post on the theme of Tourism, this joint stamp issue organised with Australia Post will be released on 25.6.2001 to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival (Tuen Ng Festival).
    The fifth day of the fifth lunar month in every year, the Chinese communities around the world organise the Dragon Boat Race to celebrate the Tuen Ng Festival. In Hong Kong, many dragon boat races held in different places on the festival day. Teams from the Mainland and overseas also come to Hong Kong to take part in the races, thus facilitating culture exchange among rowers and pepole from different places.
    The background of the two special stamps on the souvenir sheet shows the major landmarks at both harbours of Hong Kong and Australia, namely the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Sydney Opera House. With the dragon boat rowers in motion as the main focus, the souvenir sheet portrays the festive atmosphere and excitement of dragon boat races.
