「香港草药」特别邮票

香港邮政将于今年十月七日发行「香港草药」特别邮票。
中医药强调人与自然阴阳五行的关系，蕴藏丰富哲理，是中国的文化瑰宝。时至今日，人们崇尚简约自然，追求更为天然纯净的药物来抗御疾病，保健强身，使中医中药在香港，甚至在国际间日益备受重视。
芸芸中药中，以草药使用得最为普遍，因此这套邮票特别选取香港四种常见草药，作为设计的主题。
一元三角 崩大碗
伞形科多年生草本，因叶形有如缺口饭碗而得名。味甘性凉，消炎解毒，凉血生津，清热利湿。
二元五角 半边莲
桔梗科矮小伏地多年生草本，花开时像半边莲花，故名半边莲。味甘淡，性微寒。凉血解毒，利尿消肿。
三元一角 栀子
茜草科灌木，高约一米。味苦性寒，泻火解毒，清热利湿，凉血散瘀。
五元 韩信草
唇形科多年生矮小草本，高约十二至二十八厘米。味辛微苦而性平，清热解毒，活血散瘀。

"Hong Kong Herbs" Special Stamps
Issue Date: 7 October 2001
On 7 October 2001, Hongkong Post will issue "Hong Kong Herbs" Special Stamps.
Chinese medicine puts strong emphasis on the forces of the Yin and the Yang as well as the Five Elements. In search of simplicity, people nowadays turn more to Nature for more natural medicines or tonics to combat illness and improve health. It makes Chinese medicine more valued than ever in Hong Kong and in the international arena.
Herbs make up the majority of Chinese medicines. Four species of commonly prescribed Chinese herbs that grow in Hong Kong are depicted in this set of special stamps.
$1.30 Centella asiatica (崩大碗)
A herbaceous plant of Umbelliferae with a broken bowl-like leave, hence the local name 崩大碗. Characteristics: sweet-cool tasting, anti-infectious, anti-toxic, anti-pyretic and diuretic.
$2.50 Lobelia chinensis (半邊蓮)
A creeping perennial herb in Campanulaceae. Flower has the appearance of a half lotus flower, hence the local name 半邊蓮. Characteristics: sweet, cool, anti-toxic, diuretic and anti-swelling.
$3.10 Gardenia jasminoides (梔子)
A shrub in Rubiaceae, 1-meter high. Characteristics: bitter tasting, cold, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, diuretic, blood purifying, stagnant blood dispelling.
$5.00 Scutellaria indica (韓信草)
Perennial herbs of Labiatae; 12-28cm high. Characteristics: acrid, slightly bitter tasting, neutral, anti-inflammatory, circulation promoting and stagnant blood dispelling.
"Hong Kong Herbs" Special Stamps include mint stamps, stamp sheet, presentation pack and serviced first day cover (available at 38 philatelic offices on issue day only).
Sales Arrangement:
On 7 October 2001, all post offices will be opened from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hand-back service will be provided at all post offices on 7 October 2001.
All stamp products will be available at all post offices starting from 7 to 20 October 2001. Starting from 22 October 2001, the stamp products will be available at the 38 philatelic offices.
