“Hong Kong Disneyland” Special Stamps

This world of Disney fun and family entertainment is coming to Hong Kong, scheduled to open in 2005/06. The first set of "Hong Kong Disneyland" Special Stamps is issued on 12 January 2003 to mark its ground breaking on the same day at Penny's Bay on Lantau Island. Fantasy becomes real and reality becomes fantastic in four themed lands depicted on this set of special stamps:
$1.40 Main Street
Main Street looks back to America at the turn of the 20th century, a time filled with hope and optimism for the coming of a new era.
$2.40 Fantasyland
The happiest land of them all, Fantasyland is a timeless realm of imagination and enchantment where childhood dreams come true.
$3 Adventureland
Adventureland speaks to the courageous spirit lurking somewhere in the hearts of everyone, an exotic trek into the world's unexplored regions.
$5 Tomorrowland
A futuristic spaceport, Tomorrowland is the departure point for thrilling destinations throughout the universe.
Stamp products include mint stamps, stamp sheets, souvenir sheet, presentation pack and serviced first day cover (available at all philatelic offices on the issue day only). Also, presentation pack is available at selected 7-Eleven outlets.
Sales Arrangement:
On 12 January 2003, all post offices (except Mobile Post Offices) will be opened from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.
Hand-back service will be provided at all post offices (except Mobile Post Offices) on 12 January 2003.
All stamp products will be available at all post offices (except Mobile Post Offices) starting from 12 to 25 January 2003. Starting from 27 January 2003, the stamp products will be available at all philatelic offices only.
A sales booth will be set up on 1/F., Metro City Plaza, Phase II (nearby Information Desk), Tseung Kwan O during 18 and 19 January 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. "Hong Kong Disneyland" stamp products and other Disney's philatelic products such as
"Hongkong Post's Stamp Collecting Kit Featuring Mickey and Friends" will be available for sale at the venue. Hand-back service will not be provided at the venue.
